All Hands Active
Spend the evening with AHA and learn basic Unix shell scripting!
Bring a laptop with Bash installed on a Unix-y OS (OSX, Solaris, BSD, Linux) and learn how to automate tasks using Bash shell scripts.
We plan to cover basic scripting with Bash plus a brief overview on using AWK and SED commands within your scripts. We’ll attempt to answer any questions you have to the best of our abilities or at least point you in the right direction.
The class will be framed around a pre-defined task. We will work through creating a script and explain as we go. The result will be an automation of a semi-complex task. Files will be available via the internet at the start of the class so you can follow along.
If you don’t have a laptop available, let us know in advance via the sign up form or our mailing list. We will have a few machines available for your use.
Bookings are closed for this event.
